The Fairy and the Mushroom Knight
Usually when there is a knight involved, there is someone or something to be saved, so to start, I chose a fairy as the damsel in distress. Next, I decided that I wanted the fairy to be large on the canvas, and a knight doesn't have to be a human so I chose a mushroom to be the defender of the fairy. The mushroom's stem shows its strength as it rises to meet the dragon, but its cap appears whimsical to catch the dragon off guard. The fairy hides behind the mushroom knight, perched on its roots and ready to take flight once the fight begins.
