Call to Local Artists: January 2025 | Ocala Storytelling Knights Exhibition
Description of Exhibit: Artify Ocala, in pARTnership with Marion Cultural Alliance, is excited to present the upcoming Storytelling Knights Exhibition. This exhibition offers a platform for artists to explore the realms of fantasy, where creativity knows no bounds and storytelling comes alive through visual art at MCA’s Brick City Center for the Arts. Artify and MCA invite artists from all walks of life to submit their most imaginative and whimsical works for display, celebrating the art of storytelling.

Submission Details:
Theme: Fantasy-themed creations, encompassing any medium that brings your vision to life.
Deadline: Submissions must be received by midnight on December 22, 2024.
Each artist may submit two (2) pieces for consideration to https://jan2025.artcall.org by the established deadline. No physical or mailed in submissions will be accepted or considered. Participants will be notified of their status by December 27, 2024 via ArtCall.
Format: High-resolution images of your artwork, along with a brief artist statement (max. 300 words) explaining the inspiration behind your piece.
Eligibility: Open to artists residing in or near the Ocala / Marion County area.
All work must be original; no giclee or reproductions. Only entries which adhere to the theme will be accepted. All mediums are welcomed and encouraged!
Suggested size per piece is up to 40“ inches any direction. If 2D artwork is oversized, please contact gallery@mcaocala.com
to confirm space availability.
All 2D work must be gallery ready, properly wired with suitable hanging mechanisms to support its weight and framed, or created on a gallery wrapped canvas. All 3D work must be assembled by the artist before it is accepted into the gallery.
There will be an ongoing opportunity for the public to VOTE for ‘Audience Choice’, which will be awarded at the Closing Reception on January 24, 2025. The top 2 artists will have the opportunity to be featured on STK's next set of workshop materials (character cards), which will travel to all future events throughout the Public Library System.
All work that is shown at BCCA must be for sale, split 70% to the artist and 30% to MCA. MCA’s proceeds help further our mission to Champion, Convene and Create opportunities for the arts in Ocala/Marion County.
Selection of work is at the discretion of Artify Ocala and Marion Cultural Alliance. We reserve the right to reject work for the exhibition that does not meet MCA’s requirements or does not match the intent of the exhibit.
